Multiculturalism in Canada!

Multiculturalism is a broad topic, which both your parents and you, my fellow students, should be aware of. You should all understand that Canada is a multicultural, multiethnic, and multilingual country that makes it diverse in these aspects. Through these weblinks and the following resources, you will learn about how Ontario and the rest of Canada, as well as the rest of the world deal with ‘Multiculturalism.’ The first weblink that I would provide to you conveys what is Multiculturalism in Ontario Schools. The second website provides you with access to articles that are destined to teachers, and what Multiculturalism integrated in the School Curriculum really means to teachers and to your parents, and to you likewise. I have also devoted part of my research on weblinks that indicate: "What makes a school multicultural?" Furthermore, you will become aware of how the Scarborough Catholic Missions, celebrates multicultural activities which is mostly devoted to all cultures, but in particular, to Jamaicans, Trinidadians, Latinos, Guyanese, Bangladeshis, Filipinos, Tamils, Japanese, Koreans, and to the Chinese communities. I have also found one such link to a Video on Diversity & Multiculturalism. I have sought for a weblink that relays information on Racism, Multiculturalism and Immigration. These become key factors to you as students as they are crucial to your understanding about your classmates who are new-comers to Canada, thus you should treat them with mutual respect and that you help them cope with their ESL classes. Finally, I am displaying one such weblink that demonstrates how Canada has always been a country of immigrants and that Immigrant Children have always tried to cope with struggles that their parents and siblings face as new-comers to a new land.

French as a Second Language, English & OPHEA!

Parents and students, I have researched a few websites and links for French as a Second Language, English, and Physical and Health Education. In regards to French Language, for both French Immersion and FSL students, you will be keen to have access to the dictionary that binds all the things that you may seek; by all means you will solve most of your difficulties in spelling and grammar. For the Language Arts subject, I have sought for you English Books tips that would grant you better choices and options when you borrow books from the library. Another weblink, is the one destined for Physical and Health Education: it provides you access and free subscription to OPHEA (Ontario Physical and Health Education Association). This link deals mainly with how a person’s keeping active by doing physical activities and sports, can reduce risks of Heart attack, Stroke, and Diabetes. Also included in the OPHEA website are the lessons in Health and Nutrition, which makes you knowledgeable about how to better take care of your body, your daily hygiene, and of your eating habits.

Postings on Social Studies and History!

Students, here within, you will find weblinks to your Social Studies and History courses. The websites for Social Studies are linked to natives’ and other cultures’ festivals. These have the themes: Cultural Profiles Projects and Birthday Traditions celebrated by various ethnic groups in Canada. In due regards to the another topic, namely Early Settlement in Upper Canada, these are mostly destined to grades 3 to 8 students—as such, they broadly ‘touch base’ on the early settlers between 1815 and 1850. One weblink that deals with both Social Studies and History covers the theme Native Civilisations and how they originated. As far as, Early Explorers of Canada is concerned, it contains more information on famous explorers, such as: James Cook, John Cabot, Jacques Cartier, etc.

Parents and students, this posting contains two weblinks for the Science & Technology course. You will be accessible to these weblinks that have been well researched and sought for. Parents and students, here within you will find three postings for your Mathematics course. All students from Kindergarten through to grades 6, 7 and 8 can become accustomed to this posting. I have researched three weblinks in the hope of helping you should you be willing to seek guidance to improving your mathematical skills. At home, when you need additional help, your parents would be able to do so, by helping you go through my EduBlog. By simply clicking on the highlighted link that most suits you, you would be able to find the appropriate chapters that you want. I have well researched these three weblinks and I strongly suggest that you go through them. The first link is a Mathematics lesson Online for K - 6, it features Addition, Telling Time, Multiplication, Subtraction, Further Multiplications, Long Division, and arranging of Solids. My second resource is a website on Mathematics games for grades 1 to 3. This weblink relates to sorting, grouping, and matching numbers, finding lengths, and finding the volume. The third and final link that I have researched is a Mathematics Dictionary designed for K - 6. This third weblink has all topics and themes in alphabetical order. It is even useful for grades 7 and 8 students, whereby it contains some advanced algebra, and complex geometry questions.
I hope that you will become familiar with these links, and that along with the help of your parents you may progress in your Math subject and in particular, those Chapters that strike you as being difficult.
